Nfsc450 spring 2015
Hello and Welcome!
We are a group of undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park who have completed the Spring 2015 course Food and Nutrient Analysis (NFSC450). We have created this website to introduce you to various techniques that we used in lab and to show you the results we obtained from each lab.
During the first portion of the semester we specifically worked with a food sample of Strawberry Flavored Nequik Milk. Using the sample we performed experiments in which we measured moisture, calorie, and fat content contained in the sample.
Throughout the rest of the semester we performed experiments using a variety of different food samples. Some of the experiments we performed are as follow:

- BCA Protein Extraction using Tuna Fish
- Spectroscopy of Vitamin C using Orange Juice
- High Performance Liquid Chromatography using Orange Juice
- Mohr Titration using Gatorade Sports Drink
- Aflatest using Whole Foods Market Peanut Butter
- BioRad Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) using Dry Milk and Casein Protein
